Angle- Mark Twain was a powerful writer through the Spanish-American war, and he had motives in the Anti-Imperialist league that helped identify why the United States is going to war with other countries, not for the good of the people and country as a whole, but for their own self-gain. He cited reasons to fight US annexation of the Philippines such as: the reasons of the economy, legal, racial, and moral motives of the United States.
